nice modular PSU
By Elc
the packaging was pretty impressive for this thing, nice flashy box that actually was pretty no-nonsense. comes with a handy little bag with all your cables, making it more convenient to just use that to keep all your extra cables in, i just threw all my extra SATA cables in the bag as well. It also has a pretty nice red glow from its LED fan, which is pretty cool since i have a bottom PSU mount case and a 200mm blue led fan on top so it glows red on the bottom and blue on the top and in my case.
overall, a great PSU for the money, though i have heard some mixed reviews on OCZ and reliability, so far it hasnt given me a single problem.
UPDATE4/5/2011: Its been quite a few months, and this thing is still going strong, not a single problem even though I have had my computer on for probably 90% of the time since I first built it and have have had plenty of heavy gaming sessions. so far I am not seeing any problems with the reliability of OCZ products, It provides more than enough juice to keep my baby running at top condition and it never even breaks a sweat.
UPDATE9/4/2011: Now its been almost a year, and not a single problem. I am really starting to wonder why OCZ has such a bad image when it comes to reliability. the thing is still running like a champ when I almost never turn off my PC, the only reasons why I turn my PC off is to install updates, install certain programs, or to move it.

Great Power Supply
By Michael R. Haught
This is my first review of a product on Amazon. Here goes. I bought this along with a MSI 5770 Hawk video card to upgrade my HP HPE-137c PC. The PC never seem to work quite right after I bought it, nothing I could put my finger on but not right. I added this power supply, came with more cables than you can shake a stick at (great!) did not need to worry I did not get the right ones. Power supply was about a 1/2 inch bigger than the one that I was replacing so it was a little effort to get all the cables to fit, but stuffing them in the spare bay area for extra CD & hard drive got them in there. Replaced the Video Card and plugged in the cables and presto done. I booted the PC, not a sound, (quiet as a mouse). Logged in and got online with StarCraft II cranked it to the MAX and still very quiet. I then realized looking at my wireless connection that I had 4 out of 5 bars. Now, my PC is in the basement on the far end of the house from the Verizon Router, I had never got more than 2 bars before, this was fantastic! I had had some problems getting the sound to be just perfect, now it is. Hard drive seems to read faster and the access from the PS3 upstairs to the attached 1TB external USB drive flies with no more of those annoying DLNA errors. This is the best thing I have ever done to upgrade my PC and it was cheep and easy to do. Great Product so far!!!!!! Note, the fans from the MSI Hawk and the power supply face right at each other so the heat from the video card is dumped right through the power supply right out the back of the PC with the huge fan in this guy. On a minor note, when you turn the lights out in the room, the power supply is all lit up with bright red lights. If you have one of these PC's and I know a lot of them were sold through SAM's club. Go get this Power Supply if nothing else, it will fix this under powered but still very well priced PC. I know it made my day! Thanks OCZ!

Beware the Rebate
By Fnord
Nice power supply.
If you are planning on buying this because of a rebate, beware. OCZ is making it very difficult.
1. You must send in your rebate form within 21 days of *placing your order*. In my case I received the power supply after 14 days -- and I used 2-day shipping with Prime! So I really only had 7 days to send this in. Also, for added excitement, I received a notice from Amazon that they had shipped this to me *early*. I could easily imagine this having come with only a day or two left, or even past the deadline.
2. The rebate site is complicated and confusing. There are hundreds of options, and OCZ makes you pick the right one. I had all of my order information in front of me, and I didn't pick the right rebate program until the third try.
The industry loves rebates, because something like 3/4 of buyers never bother redeeming them. Looks to me like OCZ thinks that even that number is too high.
